Integrated Vehicle Health Management / Conditions Based Maintenance: Converted a legacy CBM ground maintenance software system from C, and C++ to a Java application with a SQL relational database as a step towards an Angular web-based system with JSON data stored in a MongoDB database. Supporting spiral software updates for bugs and requirement changes. Converted that Java application to a series of Java based web-applications running on an Apache Tomcat Server. Communication between the web-applications accomplished by passing XML or JSON over HTTP, using JAX-B and StAX XML parsing to convert to Java objects. Data queries written using XQuery and XPath with SQL on the backend. Supporting further refactoring to Angular with a MongoDb storage layer and RESTful web interfaces using JSON. Assisting in applying software improvements for the V-22 vibration recording hardware, using the JOVIAL language. Testing changes on hardware using simulated input data and 1553 bus traffic. Maintained and tested software for the V-22 Ice Protection System following the DO-178B standard for safety critical avionics software. Implemented bug fixes and new features, used VectorCast for unit testing and LINT and LDRA for code analysis. Modified requirements documents and led code and document reviews. System Engineer: Used DOORS Requirements Management software to trace requirements. Created an interface control document for a sub-system which used discrete signals and 1553 bus traffic to define a new interface that would be compatible with legacy hardware.Avionics Software Engineer: Designed and tested ground control software and communication software for a Tilt-rotor Unmanned Aircraft System. Included preliminary design, prototyping graphical interfaces, requirement definition, design of software architecture using the model-view-controller pattern, coding and testing. Visual C++ was used for the GUI, and C for the redundant real-time QNX OS based data processors.

Developed software for an embedded Generic Data Acquisition Unit as a part of a Research and Development team. Used Greenhill's MULTI to program in C and Assembly for the Motorola Power PC 555 processor. Worked with Borland C++ Builder to create a graphical user interface for an input testing station for the unit.

Orlando, Florida Area

Developed and deployed test procedures as a member of the Lockheed Martin Integrated Development Team for the U.S. Close Combat Tactical Trainer. Tested functionality versus specified requirements for vehicle simulators, computer generated forces, and workstations. Learned how to run and troubleshoot problems with software and hardware on UNIX networked servers.
