Sporcle, Inc. is a web-based trivia/quiz company that has been one of the premier services since its inception in 2007. In 2013, they acquired Great Lakes Trivia to form their in-person pub trivia company, Sporcle Live. As a host for Sporcle Live, my duty was to run the shows at different venues in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. This included marketing the games to new players, communicating regularly with bar managers, keeping diligent track of timing and scores, and preparing general supplies/equipment. A typical game lasts 2 hours and involves roughly 50-75 participants.

The North Texas Coed Soccer Association runs roughly 8 leagues all year for men and women in the Dallas area. As treasurer, my duties revolved around reconciling our books and ensuring that all of our accounts receivable and payable are accurate and up to date. I implemented a strategy to increase our revenue by leveraging our cash accounts into liquid and conservative investment vehicles. In addition, I filed the necessary IRS paperwork at the end of the fiscal year.

As a senior financial analyst at Capital One, my main objective is to manage regular FP&A tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and journal reconciliations for over $30 million in annual expenses across 3 teams. This includes tracking and analyzing detailed spend data, ROI, and NPV, on major investment projects and events, including SXSW and Techweek, by using Hyperion Essbase and Excel. I perform monthly variance analyses on headcount and discretionary spend, including travel, meals, etc. In addition, I assist in preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10Q and 10K)

In the fall of 2014, I obtained licenses for the Series 7, 66, and Group 1 insurance. Immediately thereafter, I began working at AXA Advisors, a subsidiary of the Paris-based AXA Group, which services over 103 millions clients worldwide. I was part of the Retirement Benefits Group at AXA, which specializes in retirement planning for non-profit organizations.In this role, I honed my sales skills by prospecting for new clients and servicing existing ones on a daily basis. I conducted 8-10 meetings per week with people in various financial circumstances to determine retirement and financial security needs. I prepared comprehensive plans tailored to individuals and families including guidance on tax codes, risk management, estate planning, and investment vehicles. In my first 18 months at AXA, I procured over $1.5 million in AUM from over 100 different clients.

Novation is the largest health care contracting company in the United States. It serves more than 65,000 facilities across the nation by providing access to lower pricing on goods and services. My role as an analyst was first and foremost to ensure price leadership in our market. I achieved this my running daily reports on our price index and product gaps to compare our value compared to our competitors in metrics including costs, product availability, and -Executing amendments to add products, delete products, and change pricing on a contract-Communicating with suppliers to ensure complete and accurate price files-Using Microsoft Excel and Access to organize and maintain databases-Analyzing revenue data to create a budget for the team

As a summer intern at Novation, I performed a variety of tasks related to promoting awareness of our new product lines. These included the following:-Leading a team of individuals across several departments to create the first Women’s Health offering among group purchasing organizations -Communicating with suppliers to gather content for a Women’s Health portfolio-Organizing information and making recommendations for the Novation Women’s Health webpage-Arranging resources for a charity project including soliciting donations, purchasing necessary materials, and keeping track of a budget

While I was attending the University of Kentucky, I worked as a bartender/server at a local sports pub. My experiences there provided valuable learning opportunities in dealing with customers. -Used sales techniques to promote certain items-Balanced a fast-pace and diligently maintainined accuracy while serving a large volume of customers-Upheld safe/fun atmosphere at all times

Sonim Technologies is a pioneer-company the produces the leading line of rugged cell-phones. During my summer with this company, my tasks were mainly focused on cutting costs within the supply chain. This included:-Reviewing financial records for accuracy -Analyzing supply-chain costs to determine areas of greatest spend-Designing new shipping procedure with projected savings of roughly $100,000 annually In addition, I worked on a task force intended to promote brand-awareness. In doing so, I organized social media outlets on Twitter and YouTube to augment the organization's online presence.

Academic Enhancement is a program run by the University of Kentucky designed to assist students across a wide range of subjects. I worked for three semesters as a tutor in Economics and Accounting. I spent time in small group or one-on-one settings with roughly 5-10 students per week. I provided study tips and test-taking strategies to help my peers succeed in the classroom and retain knowledge of the subject matter.
