My legal experiences and qualifications have become quite broad and far reaching after over twenty-eight years of practice. In late 2000, I resigned my partnership from a large Detroit-based law firm to re-join two of my former partners in their boutique corporate and real estate firm in Grand Rapids. I counsel clients on various legal matters, including on how to start a business, business mergers and asset sales, real estate transactions, employee counseling, union negotiation, litigation, and estate and tax planning. I do not take my client's trust in me lightly, but accept that responsibility as if I were also wearing their shoes or owned their business-responsible for its success. I am serious about helping clients avoid making poor business or personal decisions; and I definitely know when a litigation attorney is not working in the best economic interest of the client. I believe the law should be viewed as a tool for saving money and for bringing practical and amicable solutions to business and personal matters.
