This position is responsible for effective cost control during all phases of assigned standard engineering capital projects. Review and submit appropriation requests to ensure accuracy and sufficiency. Investigate problems related to project cost and invoice payment and propose solutions. Accountable for running various capital projects spending reports to enable effective decision making that ensures projects are delivered successfully within budgets. Collaborate with Project Managers to determine deadlines and project progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and under budget. Partner with Procurement in establishing and promoting vendor relationships. Validate project estimates throughout their development, for accuracy and inconsistencies and to ensure appropriate allocation to correct budget categories, including capital vs. expense. Work closely with Cost Engineers to establish capital plans and project spending. Review cost estimates to ensure compliance with accounting policy. Update Databases and spreadsheets weekly to reflect spending and future projections. Execute capital projects through the creation of requisitions, goods receipts and invoice management. Leverage cross functional business partners to resolve MRBR & GRIR variances leading to an 85% reduction in aged invoices.
