I specialize in critical facilities mechanical design. I'm a registered professional mechanical engineer in California and also hold a professional civil engineer's license here. I'm a lead mechanical project engineer and my focus is in mechanical design development and production of construction documents. As a lead engineer I know every aspect of the design process in order to organize & control a design team. I can also personally perform all the tasks necessary to produce a complete job. These include site evaluation, concept development with clients, mechanical design, accomplished AutoCad drafting, specification writing, value engineering, evaluation of bids and follow through tasks such as submittal review, RFI response and as-built drawing revision. This knowledge facilitates leadership and aids in communicating with other disciplines and in coordinating with quality control procedures. I've grown with critical mechanical systems over the last 14 years and have seen them evolve from very basic applications to very complex ones and now back to very basic with a sophisticated twist. In the beginning energy savings in cooling critical systems was far secondary to reliability. Energy efficiency was practically unknown as was the idea of using outdoor air for cooling. Today we strive for energy efficiency and attain reliability through fundamental simplicity.My data center design experience includes custom built evaporative cooling systems, Kyoto cooling systems, Munters indirect evaporative systems, in-row rack coolers with enclosed PODs, air & water cooled chiller and chilled water piping systems and all types of air containment systems. I constantly work with the essential development people in companies such as Munters, Trane, Kyoto Cooling, APC, Liebert, Stulz and others who are in the forefront of efficient cooling systems. My largest project as lead mechanical is the $180 million T-Mobile data center in Wenatchee, Wa
