John has been involved in real estate consulting, development, and finance since 1988. He has held the positions of Manager of Real Estate Consulting Services for Kenneth Leventhal & Co, and Senior Vice President-Residential Investments for Capstone Advisors, a joint venture partner, advisor and asset manager for some of the world’s largest financial institutions, including Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers and Bank of Montreal. Currently, John is a Principal with Synergy Capital Advisors.During the past 20 years, John has underwritten, negotiated, and managed over $700 million of equity investments and $2.5 billion in debt related to over 100 commercial and residential real estate joint ventures and acquisitions with a buildout value of over $4 billion. John has managed all aspects of the financial, tax, and managerial reporting functions. John has also provided supervision and oversight to the cash management functions, information systems, and human resourcesSince 2012, John has been a part of Synergy Capital Advisors, adding value on several commercial and residential projects. The company provides financial and strategic planning services including project feasibility and capitalization, due-diligence, acquisitions and dispositions, asset management, and accounting and reporting services. Synergy represents clients whose real estate segments include multi-national general contracting, apartment development, assisted living development, mixed-use master plans, homebuilding, hospitality, and retail development. The market value of the assets represented ranges from $40 to $600 million. From 1997-2012, John was a senior executive for Capstone Advisors with a variety of responsibilities and duties. As Senior Vice President, John oversaw the company’s residential ventures. John was responsible for all of the financial operations of the company, including project feasibility, systems development, proactive financial analysis, and financial reporting. As a fiduciary for several institutional partners, John managed over $2 billion in cash receipts from home sales, lot sales, property sales, equity investments, and business operations. In addition, John underwrote, closed, and managed 4.2 million sq ft of anchored and unanchored retail, CBD office, suburban office, flex-industrial, R&D, and warehouse/distribution.John’s career in real estate began after graduating from the UC Berkeley, with an MBA. John is a Certified Public Accountant and was licensed in California and Florida. He currently is a California Real Estate Broker.
