As Superintendent of the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities I would describe my responsibilities as follows: Provide the leadership to seven member governing board and nearly 600 staff on achieving the mission of the Board (full citizenship for all individuals with disabilities); assure responsible fiscal management of a budget of more than $60 million; manage the activities of a six member executive leadership team; assure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly; and communicate constantly with all stakeholders to assure awareness of Board supports and services.

As Assistant Superintendent of the Lucas County Board of DD I oversaw the planning pocess, directly supervised public relations, children's and adult's service areas, monitored residential development and assumed any/all assignments delegated by the Superintendent.

The Williams County Board of DD supported about 300 individuals in rural northwest Ohio. As such, my role as Superintendent required first hand knowledge of early intervention, public education law, adult services, case management, residential supports, and transportation services. While there I helped guide the governing Board and staff to expand their service system, shift the culture to a more contemporary model and secure new revenue.
