CAG is a consortium of companies that provides composite solutions for OEM’s actively interested in replacing traditional materials with composites and other advanced materials. Solutions involving reducing weight, improving thermal efficiency, extending battery life, improving corrosion resistance and a number of other value propositions are the focus of the CAG collaboration of supply chain companies, technology partners and OEM’s. CAG works to deliver these value propositions with a commercialization path in mind as well as insuring that our projects fit within the economic profile that our customer OEM markets demand. OEMs new to composites sometimes find the task of switching daunting. There is a lot of complexity in the supply chain. CAG helps those OEM’s chart a path forward through collaboration with CAG technology members which represent the whole supply chain. Examples of this success are Wabash National and Trinity Rail. CAG harnesses the power of creativity and collaboration for stronger profitable success for the entire consortium.

Coordinate and oversee a portfolio of technical RD&D projects in the area of advanced polymer composites:o Working with industry, IACMI technical leadership team, and IACMI Technology Area Directors to develop project teams and ensure the creation of quality project ideas and submission of related proposalso Establishing and Managing technical projects that support IACMI Technical Roadmap and operational goals to deliver expected outcomeso Along with the IACMI Commercialization Officer ensure project outcomes are transitioned into commercial, large-scale deploymento Coordinating with IACMI Communications office so that status and project results are available to the public, advisory groups, and other stakeholders

Oversee all material specifications for adhesives and composite materials. - Assisted with New Product Implementation (NPI) and composite metal conversions by providing company’s global engineering design teams Subject Matter Expert (SME) support.- Expanded use of composites and adhesives into heavy equipment by leading multiple research projects.- Saved company $1M annually by spearheading new product from concept to production in under a year. - Served on the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) Technical Advisory Board.

Coordinated all suppliers that produced composite products for company. Troubleshot quality problems, and handled suppliers and production facilities. - Improved quality and delivery performance by working with suppliers.- Served as SME, and worked with NPI and CPI teams to assist with design and materials selections. - Helped develop and implement 349 hood bonding—Critical Matrix—by collaborating with Hydraulic Excavator team. - Successfully worked with suppliers and design control engineers to identify $10M annually savings by metal to plastic, and composite conversions.

Worked with vendors to produce parts and used Creo to design parts and conduct FEA.- Slashed costs—$620M—by leading teams to implement steel replacements with composite and plastic materials. - Supported composite and plastic design made by resin transfer, compression, injection, and rotational molding. - Designed new modular handrail system with a $500K yearly cost savings opportunity.

Produced new prototypes by using hand lay-up, vacuum infusion, and compression molding. Moved cutting-edge technology—lab to commercial product—quickly by utilizing Taguchi Robust Engineering methods. - Incorporated advanced composite materials by managing $5M R&D program for next generation battery technology.- Spearheaded development effort—innovative conductive polymers reinforced with carbon nanofiber/nanotubes—to be used in advanced battery power systems.

Demonstrated extensive experience with bonding, vacuum infusion, compression molding, resin transfer molding, injection molding, pultrusion, and filament winding.  Key product development manager to monitor product improvement and implementation for manufacturer composites components used in multiple applications including construction, corrosion, consumer recreational, and transportation.- Programmed CNC routers and used design programs such as AutoCAD, Creo, and Solidworks to design tools, jigs, and fixtures. - Fulfilled $1.2M contract by developing vacuum-assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) process—urethane—for heavy duty loading ramp.
