Development of analytical methods for the determination of agrochemicals and their degradates at trace levels in the environment (water, soil) and crops. Development of analytical methods for the determination of emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, endocrine disrupting chemicals, hormones, steroids, and personal care products in water. Expert in the use of PE Sciex LC/MS/MS systems (API-I, API-III+, API-365, API 4000), Micromass LC/MS/MS systems (Quattro Ultima, Quattro), and HPLC (normal and reversed phase). Well-versed and experienced in the use of GC/MSD and GC with NPD, FPD, and ECD detectors although nearly all my lab work the past 10 years has been LCMSMS. Expert in extraction/cleanup methods used for isolation of analytes at trace levels from complex matrices. I excel at troubleshooting difficult analytical problems.I am familiar with and have worked using regulatory guidelines such as Good Laboratory Practice and ISO 17025. I serve as Study Director on complex studies. I am very experienced in writing, editing, and proof-reading methods and reports that will be submitted to regulatory agencies and peer-reviewed journals. I perform high-quality work that is completed on time.I have served as team leader/mentor for other chemists working in the environmental methods development group. I have supervised the efforts of other chemists ranging from technicians to Ph.D. scientists. I have served on various product development teams; interacting with scientists of other disciplines, regulatory managers, and representatives from business units. I make recommendations for capital equipment expenditures. I plan, budget, and schedule our personnel and instrumental resources to meet corporate needs and schedules. I manage and serve as Principal Investigator for grants and other complex studies.
