Returning for a second summer at SWM, my responsibilities grew greatly from the previous summer. In my time as an Engineer intern, I was tasked with designing and updating many systems and machines on site ranging from sensor and guard integration, to redesigned industrial pneumatic systems, to minor automation in certain areas. Leading these projects gave me the opportunity to work with a wide range of other people as well, and teach me how to effectively communicate instructions and plans whenever instruction or clarification were needed.

At SWM, I served as a Maintenance Engineer Intern in Ancram, NY, where I played a pivotal role in enhancing workplace safety and operational efficiency. Collaborating closely with the team, I contributed to the implementation of safety improvements by devising solutions for ergonomic enhancements and suggesting measures to create a safer work environment. This included working on updating the company's database, facilitating a transition from Excel to Oracle. Additionally, I actively participated in the creation and presentation of multiple project proposals covering a range of areas from safety protocols to ergonomic adjustments. My contributions and attention to detail were recognized, leading to an invitation to return for subsequent projects, affirming the value I brought to the team.
