I'm currently finishing an 18 month DevOps role with an operations bias at IDeaS in Bloomington, MN. I've learned a great deal about CI/CD infrastructure & practices, Jenkins, Powershell, SQL Server, Windows Server management, DataDog, and much more! Unfortunately, due to the virus, a hiring freeze has meant that I was unable to transfer to the role full time.I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas in May 2018 with a B.S. in Physics and minors in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering. In short, I’m a physicist with engineering tendencies, a healthy dose of programming experience, and a desire to contribute to ambitious and impactful projects.I love technology. Not just the luxuries it provides and the lives it saves, but also the fundamental physics that dictate the flow of forces and electricity, the dance of powerful circuitry hiding in each device, and the elegant code which can be crafted to solve nearly any problem imaginable. My hope is to turn these interests toward a career in machine learning, AI, computer hardware, VR/AR, or anything with similar potential to improve quality of life for humans across the world.While doing research at Notre Dame, I simulated the electronic states of 2D materials under different forms of physical strain with applications related to tunable LEDs and semiconductors (MATLAB, Quantum, Linear Algebra).At UST, I analyzed the details of sound and tone to help music students wield their instruments more effectively (Python, Android/Java, collecting/classifying data, machine learning).While TAing in comp phys, I built a basic 3D physics engine in Python (software, OpenGL, Linear Algebra).In the lab, I turned an STM microprocessor board into a vocoder (embedded C) among much more (LabVIEW, PID control, hardware, circuits, MATLAB, etc.).In my free time, I've written nearly 70,000 words on the the role of epistemology, philosophy of science, and psychology in effective thinking.
