Via Mthree, I worked at a SaaS Revenue Management company called IDeaS. There, I performed three main roles:1. Tier 2 IT support for hundreds of employees across 4+ products, and nearly 1000 virtual machines.2. CI/CD infrastructure development to support above employees and products.3. Lead on production deployments and technical production issues.These roles provided experience in tools like Powershell, Windows Server environments, SQL, Jenkins/Groovy, vSphere, Git/Gerrit, Artifactory, and more.

I worked as a TA for Dr. Gerry Ruch’s second iteration of his computational physics course.Prior to the beginning of classes, I was tasked with testing the feasibility of creating a 3D rigid body physics simulator in Python for future classes. I independently researched and implemented all parts including collision detection/resolution of objects with arbitrary shapes and animations in OpenGL.I presented on my work to several faculty to receive honors from UST's physics department, and also presented a poster at the 2018 AAPT Winter meeting.In class, students learned to simulate a variety of physical models in Python with an object-oriented approach. Emphasis is placed on readability and modularity of code. The course culminated in a final project which gave students the freedom to create whatever they wanted (games, more detailed simulations, other experiments). My role was to help students learn best practices, squash bugs, answer questions, and provide personal motivation.

South Bend, Indiana Area

I worked with Dr. Kenjiro Gomes and his grad students on modelling how strain in 2D materials affects band gap formation. All modeling was done in MATLAB. I also learned a great deal about scanning tunneling microscopy and assisted in the operation of the lab's STM machine. I wrote several articles for the Alumni Relations team at UST. Students were involved in the entire process of researching, interviewing, writing, and editing stories. I worked closely with Dr. Gerry Ruch and fellow student Adam Jensen to research possible ways of quantifying timbre of sound. The goal was to design an app to help students learn to play an instrument.Prototyping was done in Python. I then transitioned to creating a proof of concept Android app in Java that takes real time audio input and returns the fundamental and weighted average of the harmonics along with animated visual feedback.Experimented with Linear Discriminant Analysis, Principal Component Analysis, and Machine Learning in Python.We also carefully collected a large quantity of instrument samples for future machine learning approaches.
