John Walton has enjoyed a successful and varied commercial and community focussed career. He has been Chairman of Waltons Limited, FNCB-Waltons Limited, Waltons Insurance Company, Barclays Credit Corporation, the Eastern Sydney Area Health Service, the Australian Retailers Association, the Retail Traders Association of New South Wales, the Young Presidents Organisation, the Australiana Fund, Burson-Marsteller Australia Limited, Jardine Insurance Brokers Limited, the Sydney Alliance Limited, Prince Henry Centenary Research Foundation, Mark Foys Limited, and Miller Anderson Limited.In addition, he has been a Director of the Australian Institute of Management, Young & Rubicam Australia, Capital Investment Group, Barclays Australia Holdings Limited, Southern Pacific Hotels Corporation, Metals Explorations Limited, Mid East Minerals Limited, The Official Establishments Trust, the Sydney Committee Limited, the Confederation of Australian Industry, the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute, the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Stanford Alumni Association , the Australian Olympic Appeal Committee , as well as a number of public and private companies in various industries.Mr. Walton was awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977 and made a Member of the Order of Australia for “Services to the Community in particular to public health administration and Australian Heritage” in 1998.He is currently Chairman of Walton Enterprises Pty Limited a boutique investment banking and corporate advisory firm, which has in recent years acted on behalf of a number of significant and diverse clients, including PBL, Davids Holdings, Manildra Pty Limited, Pace Farms Pty Limited, GJ Coles, Capital Investments, Audant Limited, as well as a variety of smaller private companies. Many of these activities have been in conjunction with fellow Stanford University MBA colleagues.
