Reporting directly to the Country Managing Partner, this was the first time such a role existed in EY Ireland. It covered all five EY Ireland offices: Dublin; Cork; Limerick; Waterford and Belfast. It was created at a time when EY experienced a significant increase in reputational issues. My role included managing all crisis communication and creating EY Ireland’s first ever media relations strategy, which included: profiling EY’s partner group, designing and launching new EY thought leadership material and linking all aspects of media planning and execution to EY Ireland’s business development – both nationally and regionally. I designed and implemented media and internal communication campaigns across the island to support EY’s main flagship marketing programme – the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme. I also designed, edited and launched Ireland’s first ever all-island economic forecast – the EY Economic Eye. Launched twice yearly, this forecast rapidly built EY Ireland’s media profile by generating significant volumes of mainstream domestic and international print and broadcast coverage. In addition to this role, I was appointed to lead media relations for EY’s technology practice in the United Kingdom in 2009.
