Dr. Ware is an internationally recognized leader in the health care outcomes field. He teaches at Tufts University Medical Center (TMC) and Harvard’s School of Public Health and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. In 2009, he founded John Ware Research Group (JWRG) to continue small business innovations research improving self-assessments of disease-specific and general patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures. He was founding CEO and Chief Science Officer at QualityMetric, Inc. for 10 years, Senior Scientist at the TMC Health Institute for 12 years and Senior Research Psychologist for 14 years at the RAND Corporation. As Medical Outcomes Study PI, he led the development of the SF-36® Health Survey, the most widely-used self-assessment tool.
