The company provides other hosting solutions as well such as web hosting.My responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :- Administration and maintenance of all Linux systems from servers to workstations (This includes hardware).- Network maintenance and management.- Overtime/Standby Shifts every second week.- Remote technical support for clients and staff.- Research into Linux systems, solutions and software as well as skill building projects primarily focused around automation of tasks.- Basic database administration and maintenance.

The company is one of the largest web hosting providers in South Africa providing award winning service with their philosophy of “Trusted in Hosting”.My responsibilities included but were not limited to the following :- The building, commissioning and decommissioning of servers.- Implementation and maintenance of infrastructure.- Maintenance and reactive work for client and infrastructure equipment including working standby.- Handling of appointments including Datacenter tours and first visits.- Project work such as audits and migration of manual systems to automated ones.- Working standby and overtime to provide 24/7 support.

I started as a call center agent and discovered a passion for ITwhich I pursued until being promoted to the technical staff.The company is a small but successful Wireless ISP who takes networks that have grown organically and future proof, structures and rearranges them to be more efficient by implementing their models, standards and offering their services. My responsibilities included but were not limited to the following : - The planning, implementation and configuration of High Sites, Fibre interconnects as well as the integration of new networks.- The installation and maintenance of FreePBX (Asterisk based) virtual machines on our host server as well as some Windows based virtual machines for our monitoring and accounting system.- Troubleshooting and resolving client issues or liaising with the dealers, network providers in order to ensure the issue gets resolved.- Taking part in alternating standby and overtime shifts to provide 24/7 technical support.
