Supported Research and Teaching as Electrical Engineer for the University of Missouri/KC ‘89-‘19:• Managed the Electronics Shop for the Chemistry department. • Provided component level repair of all instruments including work for other departments.• NMR administrator for Varian Unity Inova 400 and 600 and support for Tecmag 300 solid. Provided maintenance, training, as well as assisting in teaching instrumental NMR lab section. Provided service, support, and upgrades for machines. Brought the Inova 600 up from non-functional without full configuration or working computer to functional with new computer. • Provided instruction and assistance for various equipment. • Provided and assist in the design and computer interfacing of a variety of equipment. • Areas of emphasis include NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and Positron Annihilation. • Computer programming and electronics design mostly for data acquisition and instrument control. Software has mostly been various flavors of Visual Basic. Have done a little software troubleshooting etc. in other languages. o Replaced GCMS data system with modern PC with custom interface and wrote GCMS software. o Assisted with design and interfacing of Slow Positron Spectrometers including 2 for use overseas.o Designed custom sampling interface for dual 2D Gama Camera system as well as software. o Students use software I've written using USB computer interfaces for a few experiments.o Various other designs.• Provided computer support for the department.
