CurrentIn my current position I manage a staff of 2 Sergeants and 45 deputies. One of my Sergeants supervises a staff of eight deputies that handle the service of civil documents as well as the service of all criminal warrants that are obtained by other deputies and detectives. My other Sergeant supervises the 38 deputies that are assigned to the courthouse complex for security. We are responsible for the safety and security of all officials and members of the public who enter. We monitor the entries with metal detecting and x-ray equipment. Other areas of the complex are monitored by walking patrols and CCTV. We have over 200 separate cameras that cover all of the buildings of the courthouse complex. I monitor many of them daily. I am the one responsible whenever video recordings or research are needed. I am responsible for investigating events that occur at the complex. I am also responsible for completing internal investigations for those under my command. Beginning in 2020, our courthouse complex underwent a major renovation and expansion. I was fortunate enough to be asked to be involved in the initial planning stages with the architects up to the final design and implementation of the security features and systems used in the new design. It is my responsibility to ensure that our fleet of eight transport vehicles are maintained and kept in good order. Our division has an annual operating budget of approximately $6.1 million. I am aprt of the team that manages our funds to most efficiently fill our needs for security and safety while maintaining good fiscal responsibility. I was certified as a Field Training Officer in 1999. I held that certification for over 20 years. As an FTO I was responsible for the training of adult new hires. Later in my career I supervised all of the trainers in my division and all of their training of adult new hires for thoroughness and completion.
