In turn, this exposure to the many facets of conservation builds a broad experience for each team member, helping them become better kaitiaki (guardians/ stewards) of the planet. On a personal level, alongside developing my own conservation knowledge through educating others, I am building skills in:- Leadership - I am responsible for 10 people whilst out in the field- Management - Of sickness and leave absences, timesheets, lateness etc- Social care - The team come from a variety of social, economic, health and cultural backgrounds, sensitivity to this is hugely important and also one of the most rewarding parts of the role- Health and Safety - Risk assessments, ensuring appropriate PPE, briefing the team for specific site hazards- Budgeting -Weekly food allowance; booking external training providers etc- Salesforce and Employment Hero software Show less
