  Primarily responsible for designing and troubleshooting digital hardware PCB assemblies for a variety of products, including Ethernet encryptors, airborne satellite antennas, modems, and custom test fixtures. Also responsible for designing and troubleshooting FPGA and CPLD designs. Tasks include schedule creation, requirements analysis, architecture definition, design documentation, implementation, verification, transition to production, production support, failure analysis, and root cause analysis. Designs involved multi-gigabit SERDES interfaces, DDRx SDRAM, and high-end FPGAs. Extensive experience with Siemens Xpedition Designer and Hyperlynx for implementing and simulating these designs.Also responsible for supporting obsolescence management by identifying alternate parts, reviewing BOM scrubs and updating BOMs. Instrumental in creating a process flow to efficiently keep track of all parts throughout the obsolescence management lifecycle, and providing training on the methodology used.As digital hardware leadership council chair, created and maintained corporate-wide processes, templates, guidelines, checklists and custom tools to ensure high-quality, efficient and consistent engineering activity across the company. Also organized training seminars with outside vendors and industry experts, as well as moderating an internal forum for sharing engineering experiences and lessons learned to help unify the Viasat engineering community.
