• Lead the field component of a steelhead-monitoring project focusing on iteroparity and spawning success in the Methow River Basin.
• Serve as crew leader supervising Fisheries Technicians I and II.
• Trapping and sampling of adult steelhead using weir traps and hook-and-line methods.
• Sampling of juvenile salmonids (length, weight, scale sample, genetic sample, PIT tag etc). This includes use of a rotary screw trap, electro-fishing and seining.
• Conduct spawning ground surveys.
• Operate and maintain field equipment, including waders, dry suit, rafts, pontoon boats, GPS units, coded wire tag detectors, PIT tags, etc.

Crescent City, CA

• Assist a research and monitoring program focused on pacific salmonid (Coho and Chinook salmon, Steelhead) spatial distributions and population dynamics in the Smith River Basin.
• Walk and raft stream reaches to identify Coho, Chinook and Steelhead redds.
• Measure redds, assess substrate, take GPS points and use a field computer to log data.
• Measure and tag salmonid carcasses and collect scale samples.
• Post-process the data into a statewide system.
• Monitor and observe predators (both avian and terrestrial) and log locations and species.

• Create detailed surveys of salmonid habitat and stream topography using Columbia Habitat Monitoring Program (CHaMP) protocol. This includes the use of a Nikon Total Station, Allegro Field PC, Garmin GPS, GIS software.
• Capture and P.I.T tagging of juvenile salmonids, this includes electro-shocking, seining, dip netting, snorkel herding and angling.
• P.I.T tag antenna installation and repair.
• Data management and entry, this includes 3-D modeling, generating TINs and DEMs and GIS processing.
• Working and camping in remote wilderness areas for multiple days.

Frisco, CO

• Participate in the planning and implementation of large-scale watershed restoration projects in the region.
• Collect monthly water samples from several rivers and analyze water quality and content.
• Organize and facilitate community outreach and educational events for a variety of audiences.
• Participate in watershed planning with local, state and federal agencies.
• Request grants from both the public and private sectors and managing the granted funds.
