As a professional, my goals have been to help bring folks together for common cause, seek creative and sustainable solutions to chronic community challenges, and work to advance bold public policy. My interdisciplinary background at The University of Texas and diverse work experience regularly provides me a unique social perspective and analytical approach towards achieving those goals.Earlier in my career, I worked at the Texas State Capitol - both inside as an aide for a Texas House Member and outside as an advocate at a public affairs firm. Since then, I managed the campaign to elect the city of Austin's youngest ever-elected City Council Member and worked along his side for the ensuing three years at City Hall. Following that experience, I was lucky enough to help lead a broad community coalition of Austin area non-profit, business, and political groups to ensure passage of the largest ever municipal affordable housing bond in Texas. Most recently, I was hired to manage a community-wide effort for Austin and Travis County focused on ensuring every resident is counted in the 2020 Census.
