Mobilized to Active Duty by the Navy for a short-term deployment to Blackstone, VA to support Operation Allies Welcome (OAW), a multi-Agency effort to resettle Afghan evacuees into the United States. As part of the Public Affairs team, directly charged with supervising two active-duty Marines for the purpose of obtaining imagery/video and writing stories for public release to help inform the American civilian, military, and tertiary populations on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) led mission. RESULT: Public Affairs team has released hundreds of photos and multiple videos publicly, showing the resettlement process for Afghan evacuees from arrival to the designated military facility to the resettlement into their new communities. Fort Pickett has resettled all of the over 11,000 evacuees processed there.

Emergency/Project Manager for Community Medical Centers specialized in creating and closing projects for federally reimbursable COVID-19 costs. In March, 2020, the President declared a Major Disaster Declaration (DR-4482) related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. DR-4482 provides reimbursement for eligible expenses under the FEMA Public Assistance program. The Disaster Cost Recovery Specialist is charged with assembling eligible costs, requisite invoices & payments, adhering to federal grant regulations, submitting projects, and seeing those through funding and closeout. Success requires in depth understanding and consultation of both the medical care provided as well as the FEMA grant process.

Developed communication and data products tailored for Recovery, Response, Mitigation, and Logistics leadership. These products were delivered and briefed for the purpose of informing the FEMA R9 decision making process in a timely, accurate manner. Developing and maintaining relationships with State, Tribal, and local Emergency Managers was pivotal in information and requirement gathering.May 2014-December 2015 (Washington, DC): Senior Watch Analyst tasked with facilitating 24x7 situational awareness nationally creating routine and incident specific situational reports ensuring FEMA senior leadership, State/Territorial/Tribal governments, and local emergency managers were apprised of details related to ongoing and/or potential manmade or natural federal disasters.July 2011-May 2014 (Washington, DC): Supervised seven individuals of the Recovery Front Office Executive Communications Unit (ECU) developing performance standards, establishing priorities, creating performance appraisals, approving leave, certifying time cards, recommending awards and providing coaching. Notable accomplishments included analysis of OIG/GAO audits conducted on Recovery and analysis of nearly 400 pieces of Congressional Correspondence. Further, this team served during national enhanced watch and National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) activations.
