Terminal Agency Coordinator IntroductionEffective interaction between the REJIS computer center and its client agencies is enhanced when communication channels are clearly identified. To support the communication process the agency needs to designate an agency representative to serve as a coordinator. This individual will generally serve as the primary field contact for the REJIS computer staff.Selection and AssignmentThe selection of the individual to serve as a coordinator is the responsibility of the chief agency administrator (Terminal Agency Administrator or TAA). The coordinator serves at the direction of the agency administrator and is accountable only to that agency. The law enforcement firearm instructor's job is to teach officers how to be safe, effective, and timely in the use of their firearms and tactics, and to win all lethal encounters. Our program provide the hands-on training to help teach officers to win in life or death combat situations that require them to utilize their service weapons.

The Assistant Shift Administrator ensures that assigned areas of the Detention Operation is adequately staffed and operated in a safe and secure manner. The Assistant Shift Administrator serves in a mid-level management position and performs assigned administrative tasks. The Assistant Shift Administrator meets with the Shift Administrator and the Lead Corrections Officer on a regular basis to exchange information and ensure the consistent enactment of policy. The Assistant Shift Administrator provides training and evaluates the performance of all assigned Lead Corrections Officers and Correctional Officers. The Assistant shift administrator is supervised by the Shift Administrator and may be called upon to fill the position of Shift Administrator.

A Correctional Emergency Response Team CERT is also referred to as a Special Operation Response Team SORT or a Special Emergency Response Team for Correction SERT. These types of teams are corrections officers who are highly trained to respond effectively to cell extractions, riots, mass searches, incidents and disturbances in prisons. These disturbances may involve violent or uncooperative inmates. Members of CERT are required, and expected, to be available and contactable to respond no matter what time of day the incident occurs. The CERT consists of a group of experienced and highly motivated corrections officers.

Supervise inmates and lead detention staff in housing units and those segregated for administrative or punitive measures; instruct inmates in housekeeping and sanitation; supervise the issuance of clothing and other personal effects to inmates.Make periodic patrols of quarters and work areas and initiate counts of inmates at regular and irregular intervals; maintain control and discipline including use of physical restraint and restraining devices; prevent the introduction of contraband into the institution.Check inmate mail for possible contraband; maintain a periodic patrol either inside or outside the institution to ensure the security and integrity of the institution.
