Co Founder
This was the first startup I ever helped create. I started it with John Fryer and our goal was to make a SaaS solutions for desktop technical maintenance. Basically, we would install a small program on your computer and perform basic technical maintenance remotely. If things broke, we would fix the computers based on the level of service was selected.Cloud backup services. We backed up the computers using our service.Level 1 & 2 technical support based on level of service selected.Web Design. This venture had taught me about landing pages, setting up websites and building them.Web apps to help you sell on amazon, eBay and other sites. This was the second idea we had. Basically, we were drop shipping on amazon and eBay using Newegg as our supplier. Made a decent amount of money for what work we performed. My favorite part of the job was making the tools to work remotely on customers computers. My least favorite part of the job was admitting we had a very bad business plan. We tried, but a bad plan is a bad plan.

Ebay To Member Limits
General:Investigate accounts for selling limits on ebay.comReview accounts for potential fraud and lossI really enjoyed helping sellers list items for saleI also really enjoyed assisting in the latest SEO practices for our site Such as how to use Google adwords, how to write better descriptions and how to take attractive photosProvide guidance on eBay policy and best practicesGrow successful accountsMy favorite jobs:Create new tools to be used by the department, even though I was never asked to do them. I always feel that if it can be done, I should do it, and do it right. I have attached the views of these tools below. Such as risk assessment dashboards (c#) Bug tracking forms and reports(vba only because thats what I could use for almost 2 years)New hire on the job training and best practices. Being the most senior on the team kinda works out that way. But, this was the most rewarding part of my day. Especially when you can get them to be promoted. So, to help with that, I have given interview techniques, huddles and coaching for new positions. I was always glad to see people moving up.My least favorite job was dealing with recalcitrant sellers. eBay is a web marketplace, and we must adjust our standards to meet our competitions. Ultimately, in the end, we came to see eye to eye, but for that first hour or so we don't.
Retention Specialist
General:Retention specialist. It was my job to keep your account open and get you to use the card more. Card benefits advocate. Compared competitor offerings to ours and helped make sure you got all the cash back bonus you deserved. Made sure you signed up for all of the offers we had.General Customer Service. I was always a customer advocate. I know it showed because I went to a lot of employee of the month functions. My favorite job was giving out 0% interest rates and retroactively giving 5% cashback. It was a great call.My least favorite job was closing accounts. You put a lot of energy into leveraging the card, but eventually you have to let people close their account.
Sales Representative
General:Mobile phone sales in person. Kind of like the guys you see in the mall kiosk. Mild amount of technical support, which you have to do in order to retain sales.Store opening and closing. Trained new employees and managers to the store. This included selling techniques, processing the sale, inventory, retention and general upkeep. My favorite part of the job was selling Sprint phones. They paid the best bonuses and at the time also gave the best deals on wireless. My least favorite part of it was working Sundays. Being we live in Utah, Sunday is not the best day for sales.
Human Resources Clerk
General:Interviewing and screening applicants. I never did the hiring part of this job, I couldn't extend offers, but I did everything else. Including "hiring" in the system.New Hire Orientation and Training. This is pretty straight forward: this is how great HMS is to work for, here are you new hire packets for I-9 and W-4's. Here are the basic company policies and what you can expect while working here. Basic clerk work: filing, data input, taking phone calls. No frills, but I learned a lot about HR laws. I really am glad I worked at HMS and got experience.Helped employees with HR Law and Company Policies. Basically, my job was to be the first face people meet and get help.My favorite part of the job was J-1 student Orientation. J-1 students are a temporary student work visas for them to learn english. Because they were from all over the world, it was always fun and fascinating to be able to talk to them and show them around town. My least favorite part of the job was filing. It was very tedious and had to be done every week. Glad everything is moving to paperless.
