My duties included but were not limited to monitoring trays of batteries in the Charging bay, in the High Temp and Room Temp holding rooms; Calling out trays that showed various errors and maintenancing them. Responded to alarms and maintenance errors on the various Testing Stations. I was also picked to lead a team of Temporary workers for Special Projects in our department. This required me to explain what was needed to complete each task to my team, as well as explain what was needed from each of them. By being part of the special projects team, I reported both to the Supervisors in my main department, Formation Phase 2, but also to the Special Projects Supervisors. This position required lifting trays of batteries in excess of 50lbs. repeatedly for the whole shift and sometimes pulling pallets containing 40 of the 50lbs trays, using a pallet jack, long distances.

I also tested the laundry facility’s Alfa and Beta-Gamma scanners nightly, cleaned the lint filters, tested the plant’s gas mask canisters for reuse, patched holes, sewed on missing buttons, and swept and mopped the ‘hot’ and ‘cold side of the laundry facility separately. My training included safety standards according to OSHA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ergonomics, occupational security, and forklift and crane operation.
