I was responsible for 3 portfolio-aligned teams of people (16 staff) subsequently realigned into functional areas (development and support). I motivated and developed individuals in my team so that they produced the best work they could in a supportive yet challenging environment.I worked closely with our Service Management and Help Desk functions to ensure that they had all necessary information and tools to maximise the chances of first-line support fixes for reported incidents. I scheduled 2nd-line support service involvement in Problem Management investigations and any applicable system changes required to achieve permanent fixes thereafter.I was responsible for a revenue budget (excl. salaries) of between £600K and £700K and a flexible capital annual expenditure of between £500K and £1.5M (depending on what projects were under way at any one time).I also managed the operational standby provision for all force applications, providing 24-hour cover for key systems and infrastructure.
