As an experienced health technology executive, corporate board member, research scientist, consultant, and educator, I have been privileged to build, lead, and advise teams that have successfully pioneered some of the world's most exciting health technology innovations.Adept in navigating the “four hurdles” of health technology innovation, I’ve driven successful development and commercialization for some of the world’s most innovative and transformative health technology products, including smartphone-based Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) products, transcatheter heart valve implants, implantable neurostimulators, bilateral cochlear implants and drug-eluting coronary stents.Successfully commercializing transformational health technologies requires knowledge spanning across many disciplines (clinical, regulatory, R&D, finance, sales, marketing, legal, policy) and the ability to work together with many stakeholders across the whole product lifecycle.Our vision at Google is billions of healthier people. As Head of Clinical Research, Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Google, I’ve led teams to develop, validate and commercialize pioneering digital health products on Google platforms with billions of users. Our digital health solutions leverage state-of-the-art AI algorithms, Cloud-based technology platforms, smartphones, wearables, connected biosensors, and interoperable health data to improve health outcomes on a global scale.Prior to joining Alphabet, I held executive roles at Boston Scientific and Abbott, where I led global clinical research, health economics, and outcomes research initiatives and we successfully launched some of the world’s most successful medical devices. Earlier, I served in research and consulting roles at RAND Corporation, Quintiles (now IQVIA), PwC, and American Society of Internal Medicine (now ACP).Committed to educating the next generation of leaders, I have also held teaching and advisory positions at Stanford University, Stanford Biodesign, University of Southern California, and University of Washington.Recognized as an industry leader in digital health, medical devices, and clinical research, I have been widely published in scientific journals and lecture frequently on diverse topics including digital health strategy, health policy, health economics, healthcare technology assessment, value-based payments, and real-world evidence strategies.
