I have held senior positions in the public, private, and academic sectors, with particular emphasis in emerging or transitioning economies. My private sector interests are financial strategies for developing markets, corporate reorganization, and business development. My academic interests and research are in experiential education, group project management and business advisory services. I have led advisory teams for clients in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, North Asia and Latin America.In the private sector I have 20+ years of leadership in venture capital investing; over half of which was in international locations. My private sector capital commitments have included food processing, textiles, chemicals, air transport, food service, hotels, financial services and capital equipment. My activities have also included collaboration with international multilateral organizations, including IFC/World Bank, EBRD, and Asian Development Bank. My public sector activities have included extensive work with USAID, and its partners Chemonics, Pragma and DAI.I have an AB in economics and mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business. I have also done postgraduate studies at New York University in international economics.
