Having been an executive in both the private and public sectors, I have a very unique perspective on how to effectively inspire people, and therefore organizations, to be great! I spent over 20 years at The Boeing Company in Seattle as a senior leader on programs including Sea Launch, B-2 Bomber and F-22 Raptor. On the F-22 program, our radical wing and aft fuselage assembly improvements resulted in our Assembly Center being named the 'Best in Boeing' in 2003 and 2004. Our story was captured in the March 2005 SME Manufacturing Engineering article “Lean Fighter”.I left Boeing to become General Manager of Berg Integrated Systems. Using lessons learned from Boeing, we created very efficient assembly centers for two large US Army contracts, the 210,000 gallon rubber fuel bladders and Expandable Shelter Systems. Our company’s revenue grew from $2M to $28M during this time frame. In July 2008, SME's Lean Directions magazine documented our success story in their “Cd’A Tribe’s Berg Goes Lean” article. In 2009 I got a unique opportunity to run a regional state government agency. By utilizing leadership techniques I learned from Boeing and Berg, we significantly improved WorkSource Spokane’s performance and customer service quality while greatly reducing operating costs. Our story was captured in the March 15, 2012 Spokane Journal of Business article “Bringing Efficiencies to a Job Center".And in 2013 I became Spokane County’s Chief Operations Officer, where I'm currently leading the 'lean' transformation of this 2,100+ person organization. The quality of staff at the county is very high, and it's been an honor enabling them to continuously improve their work environment and provide our citizens with even higher quality services.
