About John Hoopes

I am a petroleum development geologist with experience in the planning, execution and geological evaluation phases in active oilfields. My experience is centered around the development, and utilization of small teams and organizations within and outside the walls of the company. In addition to development, I have been involved in economic, volumetric and whole field geological studies. I have overseen drilling projects of hundreds of shallow vertical wells for a conventional EOR operation and planned approximately 150 horizontal wells in a very active unconventional oilfield. My strengths are: Experience in planning, developing and building permit inventory for EOR and horizontal drilling projects. Software skills include Microsoft, Adobe, IHS (Petra), and Landmark (DSG and CWP) packages.
