John has 20 years of market research, strategy, innovation and management consulting experience. He serves clients in many industries, but focuses on medical devices, high tech and telecom, and consumer services. He has led domestic and international engagements, studying customer opinions in South America, Europe and Asia. John’s work at AMS includes Voice of the Customer studies, QFD, concept development and evaluation, and conjoint analysis. He has also trained and coached hundreds of AMS clients to develop their in-house insight capabilities.Prior to his role at AMS, John was a customer insights expert at McKinsey & Company, and a manager at Innosight, an innovation strategy consulting firm founded by Clayton Christensen. He also led the North America customer insights team at Vistaprint.John’s technical expertise includes ethnography, segmentation, market sizing, brand measurement and marketing effectiveness. He is a Certified Customer Experience Professional John and a RIVA-trained focus group moderator.Outside of work, John is a skilled carpenter and woodworker, and is a leader with Appalachia Service Project and the Boy Scouts of America, as well as a youth softball coach and an amateur musician (guitar and voice).
