Working to provide pertinent information in an understandable and actionable format. The hope is to help ensure that we all make informed decisions that are supported by facts and educated opinions. The goal is that all development that occurs does so in a planned and thoughtful manner. We also want to ensure that new residential projects provide for a significant range of housing that supports a variety of incomes, education, and wealth.

FounderNeighborhoods Resource Center - Aka Neighbor 2 Neighbor Jan 1995 - PresentI led the development of Neighborhoods Resource Center, Inc. from a glimmer of an idea to its creation, development, and blossoming as a premier resident-focused, community engagement not-for-profit charitable corporation. This work was made possible by the support of many, many neighborhood and community leaders here in Nashville, Tennessee, and cities around the country. As a final action, in 2010, I created the Center for Neighborhood and Community Action, located in the NRC’s new and freshly restored home – Nashville's Historic Firehall #1. I hope it to be a physical manifestation of my vision of the future of neighborhoods – a place where neighborhoods and their leaders can come to learn, network, grow, and receive assistance with their community improvement initiatives. This was made possible through the help of my Board, friends, the Historic Germantown Nashville neighborhood, Metro Nashville Government, The Frist Foundation, The HCA Foundation, The Memorial Foundation, The James Stephen Turner Family Foundation, my family, and other anonymous and generous contributors.

Board MemberNational Neighborhood Indicators Partnership, The Urban Institute Jan 2005 - Jan 2010Washington, D. C.The National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP) is a collaborative effort by the Urban Institute and local partners to further the development and use of neighborhood information systems in local policymaking and community building. National Partnership was made by invitation only and was subject to intensive submission requirements. Board members were elected from the group as a whole. This honor, being a member of the Board, was the culmination of my work getting data sets from some very difficult providers, giving each point of data, and then combining them with a variety of other data to create a meaningful visualization to neighborhood leaders, non-profits and sometimes government itself. This organization works with only the best of the best, we were very honored.
