Seasoned healthcare business executive with a focus on market and revenue growth, and a strong competency in identifying and developing leaders. As CEO for UHC’s Vision Plans, John was responsible for the overall operations, profitability and growth, and client and consumer satisfaction of the vision business within UnitedHealthcare’s Specialty Benefits business. Proudly led the Vision team to grow membership over 40% while also doubling revenues and profits over a 5 year period. John previously served as a senior executive within UHC’s National Accounts division, managing its client management team which served over 500 national account employers, representing over 11M covered lives from some of the largest employers in the US. Before joining UnitedHealth Group in 2003, John worked as a healthcare and benefits consultant both as a Principal at Mercer HR Consulting and as an Associate for Watson Wyatt (now WillisTowersWatson). Previously he served in several operational roles as director of physician practice management as well as health plan provider relations for Chicago-based medical providers and healthplans respectively.
