This product is used primarily with blade servers to provide the experience of a dedicated, high-performance desktop computer to customers using low-cost client hardware. Developed a Windows mirror display driver to reflect the server desktop to client machines; an API interception framework to remote DirectX and DirectDraw applications; a Windows service framework to accommodate the needs of Vista user account control. Also mentored a colleague in developing a COM server used to extend and customize the server.

Senior software engineer designing the software architecture for synthetic instruments. The concept behind synthetic instruments acknowledges that the capabilities which uniquely differentiate instruments are defined in software. Creating different instruments then consists of combining commodity hardware with software personalities. Designed a system to have instruments automatically create application modules customers could use to programmatically control the instrument. This involved enhancing the standard firmware development environment to generate an XML representation of the instrument instruction set and providing transforms to adapt the XML into modules conforming to industry- standard formats. Also enhanced the standard firmware development environment, replacing a dynamically-dispatched instruction parser with a system that compiled instruction extension methods into .Net IL code. This resulted in a significant increase in the speed at which instruments could process instructions.

Software architect leading a small project team of R&D and QA engineers responsible for creating a system to integrate microwave circuit simulation tools with measurements. This is a multi-platform, dynamically-extensible system which allows customers to extend application capabilities by using .Net reflection to aggregate components in a networked environment. The system integrates into existing applications by publishing component capabilities in WSDL, from which a proxy generator dynamically creates application extension modules. This technology has spawned several new products, collectively known as "Connected Solutions".
