    Research Triangle Park, Nc
Managed marketing and brand strategy in an agile environment at Practichem, an emerging Internet of Things (IoT) software company that makes scientific instruments. Quick points:♦ Developed full enterprise marketing plan for main product and supporting service components♦ Researched and established pricing and go-to-market strategy for service components♦ Designed and implemented differentiated blogging, social media, and content creation guidelines♦ Established and oversaw implementation of brand messaging and voice, including the launch of new website and blogging platformMore about this role:♦ Brand Creation & Management ♦I brought the importance of user experience (UX) to the forefront in brand creation and messaging in this forward-thinking company. I also ensured that this branding came through in the design of the company's website, blog, and all other marketing channels.♦ Marketing Strategy and Execution ♦Marketing strategies and tactics should be product- and brand-centric, and universal enough to sustain through the inevitable product changes that occur while gaining traction. I developed this framework while also projecting a forward-thinking, strong thought leadership component at a company and individual level. ♦ Working with Awesome Designers and Engineers ♦Working with and managing truly talented designers and developers always gives me an appreciation for what is possible. Here, building a strong brand and messaging was easy when coordinating creatives and developers that fight for doing things right. My job here was to make the strategy and path clear while removing obstacles (or getting out of the way).
  • Critical Path Services, Llc
Branding, Marketing, And Business Development Lead
Critical Path Services, Llc Apr 2014 - Apr 2015
    Research Triangle Park, Nc
Here, I developed branding, marketing, sales, and recruitment/retention plans and ensured they were executed in a fast-growing, global contract research organization (CRO).Quick points:♦ Developed highly differentiated brand standards for company♦ Developed all content for corporate website and oversaw development and design work♦ Primary client-facing person ensuring embedded team performance at large client sites♦ Brought sales team into the process of embedded programs to uncover new opportunities♦ Responsible for proposals, KPIs, and cost negotiations♦ Worked at all levels across various client organizations, through executive management, to ensure client success and build relationshipsMore about this role:♦ Branding is everything ♦I re-branded the laboratory services division of this contract research organization to adopt a bold, truly unique set of differentiators. I brought a conversational tone combined with crisp, concise copy and clean, modern design to email marketing, collateral, and presentations. Power through simplicity.♦ Embedded Teams & Inside Sales ♦Helping clients simplify things and become more efficient are two of the most rewarding components of being an embedded consultant, and I have found that these skills are very effective in establishing new lines of business. ♦ Business Planning and Strategy ♦Through intensive industry research and experience (and a bit of fun), I developed, wrote, and implemented the primary business development plan for our analytical laboratory. This included comprehensive marketing and sales campaigns designed to leverage everything at our disposal to grow our business.
  • Critical Path Services, Llc
    Project Manager
Critical Path Services, Llc Mar 2013 - Apr 2015
    Research Triangle Park, Nc
As a project manager my work included personnel and study coordination, data analysis, and analytical study management. Quick points:♦ Managed embedded team members at major client sites; made sure internal and external teams received regular progress and status reports♦ KPIs included time estimates, resolving issues, scheduling, and QA review results♦ Coordinated with internal sales team to ensure proper resource allocation within client site♦ Gained trust quickly as primary client-facing representative by establishing relationships across the organizationMore about this role:♦ Evolving Timelines ♦Keeping several projects moving with shifting deadlines is something that I have always enjoyed doing. When a deadline moves up and everyone is wondering how it's going to get done, that's when I feel the calmest.♦ Company Culture ♦Team members embedded at client sites often grow, and look for ways to expand their knowledge and skill sets. I managed successful talent transitions through careful planning, clear communication, and establishing trust, while above all maintaining the highest quality of work to ensure the company, our client, and all team members came out ahead. Strong company culture is embodied here. ♦ New Areas in a Regulated Industry ♦My skills in bridging existing processes with new methods have been extremely useful. • Critical Path Services, Llc
    Technical Writer
Critical Path Services, Llc Mar 2013 - Mar 2014
    Rtp, North Carolina
I wrote reports for scientists and their regulatory affairs counterparts in this role. In reality, I pulled things together after the data had been generated and made everyone’s jobs easier. More about this role:♦ Analytics and data ♦This position required the ability to handle large, sometimes disparate, amounts of data to construct a cohesive whole, communicated as clearly as possible.♦ Scientific Aptitude ♦My background in chemistry and instrumentation allowed me to communicate between laboratory scientists and non-technical personnel.♦ People Skills ♦One skill helped me the most during my time in this position: Being able to converse critically with people from all over the globe, and indeed of all different backgrounds and specialties.
  • Gad Consulting Services
    Regulatory Writer And Editor
    Gad Consulting Services 2012 - 2013
In this position I wrote and developed several chapters for The Encyclopedia of Toxicology, 3rd Edition (Elsevier). I was responsible for all content, and appear as author or coauthor on several articles.Links to this publication:http://store.elsevier.com/Encyclopedia-of-Toxicology/isbn-9780123864543/http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Toxicology-Edition-Philip-Wexler/dp/0123864542 More about this role:♦ Content ♦ This position required intensive research of various materials and chemical compounds and their properties, in addition to their toxicological profiles (worker exposure, environmental fate and behavior, EPA and/or FDA guidelines, GHS classifications, and several other attributes). ♦ Scope and Layout ♦These contributions needed to adhere to strict guidelines set by the publisher while communicating as much relevant information as possible, yet needed to be compelling at the same time. ♦ Example Topics ♦Chapters included Silicones, Polymers, TGN1412, among many others. See the 3rd Edition of The Encyclopedia of Toxicology for all entries.
  • University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill
    Research Assistant
University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill 2009 - 2012
This position relates to my graduate work, and I was fortunate enough to work in a unique lab where I could conduct research, and lead projects, on a variety of topics. The lab was focused on healthcare with an emphasis on nanotechnology, where we used a unique platform for the design and manufacture of shape-and-size-specific particulate drug delivery vehicles, in addition to medical devices and novel prodrugs. More about this role:♦ Nanotechnology ♦The primary focus of my work here involved the rational design and manufacture of degradable nano- and microparticles as drug delivery vehicles. I fabricated particles of unique shapes and various aspect ratios, the breadth and depth of which is truly astounding. ♦ Drug Delivery ♦I also formulated the compositions of these particles to contain various pharmacotherapies including antibiotics anti-inflammatories. Efficacy was evaluated by in vitro and in vivo dosing according to the disease model being studied. Most of these did not work, but that’s science!♦ Imaging ♦Before they were used in new display technologies for mobile devices, one of the first uses of quantum dots was in histopathology and animal imaging. I was able to incorporate quantum dots into polymeric nano- and microparticles to track particle movement within cells and in small animals following injection to determine where the particles ultimately end up, and once there, where they could release their cargo.♦ Prodrug Design and Synthesis ♦Prodrugs are molecules or small-scale assemblies containing active drug compounds that are attached to some other component such as another, neutral molecule, or a polymer or protein. When subjected to specific environments, the active drug compound is released, freeing it in a more targeted fashion. I synthesized and tested novel prodrug precursors and, later, novel prodrugs for use to treat bacterial infections.
