Independently conduct research centered on obtaining reproducible transfection results in the hopes of improving transfection methods. Various ratios of DNA to polymer can be analyzed across multiple cell lines to optimize transfection conditions. This may ultimately lead to the addition of cancer cell specific receptor molecules onto the polymer for use as an in vivo cancer treatment.Laboratory findings were collected and presented to lab members at weekly meetings.

Dedicate approximately 3 hours per week to the assistance of students in the biological laboratory setting, and devote 1-2 hours per week to pre-laboratory preparations.

Worked extensively within the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma/Surgical Critical Care, where I conducted and presented Advanced Trauma Operative Management course research at Hospital symposium. I was afforded the opportunity to gain a complete perspective of hospital life through shadowing opportunities in all departments and locations (i.e. Operating Room, Emergency Room, Intensive Care Units, Outpatient clinics), in addition to interactions with medical students and residents. Additionally, I attended weekly student seminars to evaluate physicians’ roles in various social, ethical, legal and economic issues pertaining to health care.
