I also teach non-majors who are part of the choral program and/or who are just wanting to improve themselves in the area of singing. I co-teach studio classes each semester where we emphasize different performance aspects involved in singing. My colleague and I have taught classes focusing on living composers, peer evaluation, presentation basics, and acting/improv. I perform regularly in both faculty and individual recitals as well.

Schaumburg on Stage is a not-for-profit children's (8-21 years old) musical theater group, which stages 2 full productions annually. The last 2 years with SOS I worked as their director and music director helping the company successfully transition ownership. I recruited new talent, brought in new professionals to fill positions and for support. For each show I was part of the production from the planning stages to strike. As director I planned rehearsals, cast the show, successfully rehearsed the show to performance level and led a team of hired and volunteer creatives in producing the technical and support areas of the shows. As the music director I taught/directed all the vocals, accompanied rehearsals and shows, and hired and directed the pit orchestra. In this company we strove to be creative in giving students opportunities to shine, frequently double casting and using small groups/individuals in unique and fun ways.
