Arrayit Diagnostics, a majority owned subsidiary of Arrayit Corporation (OTCBB:ARYC), recently signed an agreement with Wayne State University which grants the Company exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize a novel proteomic microarray-based pre-symptomatic ovarian cancer diagnostic test using biomarkers developed by Professors Michael Tainsky of the School of Medicine and Sorin Draghici of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Madhumita Chatterjee, research associate in the School of Medicine in a 6 year collaborative effort with Arrayit Corporation. This non-invasive blood test aims to effectively screen for early stage ovarian cancer in women who are not yet symptomatic, which could increase the survival rate from less than 20% with late stage detection, to 90% with early detection. It will have the added benefit of identifying specific protein expressions allowing for a very personalized approach to treatment and the development of targeted gene therapies. Follow up testing will also monitor the the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.Arrayit also offers the patented genomic VIP (Variation Identification Platform) technology for human disease screening, blood typing, parentage testing, forensics, human leukocyte antigen (HLA) analysis, and infectious disease diagnosis. In one embodiment of VIP technology, amplified DNA samples from many different patients are printed into a microarray, and screened for genetic variations of interest. Arrayit's VIP microarrays screen as many as 100,000 patients in a single test. Arrayit VIP technology can be used to screen patients for genetic diseases, neonatal disorders, infectious diseases, and any other trait that has a DNA basis.Specialties: Arrayit leads and empowers the genetic, research, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic communities through the discovery, development and manufacture of proprietary life science microarray technologies and microarray consumables for disease prevention, treatment and cure.
