John has a long history in forward-thinking and innovative data collection and analysis, initially working in exploration geology and mining, managing a string of successful field projects throughout Australia and overseas. In 1992 he joined Bendigo Mining and successfully re-evaluated the accepted geology. Fellow Global GBM director, Harvey Ryan worked alongside John to compile, analyse and model historic and current data. John continued to diversify, lecturing in GIS and field data collection at RMIT University, and then brought his experience to the area of geotechnical engineering, working on such projects as Victoria’s desalinisation plant, dam modelling and major sewer replacements. In 2005, John became part of the Global GBM journey and, when GBM Mobile was released, transitioned to full time consulting, providing training, support and implementation advice. His contributions assisted the continuing development of the Global GBM software platform, which ultimately became Konect. John has become the personal face of the Konect product, handling sales, communications and solutions architecture for the software. Since 2016, John has operated as a director and principal consultant of Field Data Capture Consulting (FDC), both reselling and providing associated consulting for Konect. Field Data Capture is John’s specialisation.
