Staff Network Engineer
The crux of my role as Staff Network Engineer has been serving as lead network engineer for CoreSite's OCX Enhanced Network Services products. Helped build the TOS team by interviewing candidates and insisting on a high bar for network engineer candidates to fulfill the TOS NE1 role.
Data Center Technician
Member of the team of technicians responsible for supporting the physical network and systems infrastructure for Amazon.com. Supported multiple data centers throughout the Northern Virgina area. Worked with other engineering teams for maintenance and support of various aspects of Amazon's datacenter infrastructure, including networking equipment such as Cisco 3750, 3750E, 3560, 3560E, 4948, 6509E and 7609E platforms, Cisco CSM and Citrix Netscaler load balancers. Worked very closely with other engineering teams within the Infrastructure department as well as the Seattle-based Systems and Network Operations Center on various projects, both systems-side and network-side, involving increasing systems and network capacity, availability, and redundancy while reducing cost. Participated in multiple data center rollouts as well as data center decommissionings and/or moves. At the time, our team were the first engineers to put hands on and deploy what would be the very first racks of AWS EC2.
Helpdesk Analyst
Worked with a staff of 15 Tier I support technicians responsible fortroubleshooting basic software and hardware issues. Supported 1000+ users at sites nationwide; worked as a government contractor responsible for supporting GSA’s Federal Supply Service. Used Proxy remote control software to access user’s machines and assist them visually as well as verbally over the phone. Coordinated with Tier II support technicians when certain issues or problems that had to be escalated, and routed tickets accordingly.

Worked as a government contractor on a helpdesk taking upwards of 10,000 calls per month from various employees of the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection. Worked with an 8-person team responsible for Asset Management and IT hardware support. Fielded calls for various hardware and software issues to other support teams and resolved all hardware-related calls and some software-related calls within the scope of my capabilities. Worked with Peregrine ServiceCenter Service Management software and maintained a ticket queue, worked and updated tickets daily.
