Koval draws on his experience across multiple divisions and geographies at Abbott and currently leads public affairs for the company's $8B nutrition division. In this role, he has full divisional responsibility for brand identity and expression, external and internal comms, media relations, brand partnerships, crisis and issues comms, and NGO and public health relationships. He has previously built two public affairs organizations from scratch following acquisitions and is known as a strong partner to business leaders. Koval was brought into the nutrition division to lead it during the infant formula recall and subsequent national product shortage. Prior to that, he led public affairs for Abbott's rapid testing business during the pandemic, where he helped catapult Abbott to iconic household name status through his work creating the COVID self-testing category and advancing the science for at-home testing.
