During this period I worked under Shop 38 of NNSY FMB. I participated in repair and overhaul of several types of hydraulic pumps, high pressure air manifolds, sanitary pumps, and other pieces of submarine equipment. I also transported valves and work packages to Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth for their shop to test and rebuild as well. I also often reviewed QA paperwork and work packages for completion before routing outside of the shop. I was also given the responsibility of tracking and routing leave and training paperwork, and accounting for man-hours spent on various jobs and duties. This was necessitated by the combined civilian and military components under NAVSEA. I was put forward as a member of the command Morale, Welfare, and Recreation group, and participated in fundraising and event planning related to it.

During this period I qualified Below Decks Roving Watch (Similar to the Armed Topside Security Watch, but with the additional responsibilities of log-taking and checking gauges and readouts). I also qualified the Auxiliary Aft and Auxiliary Forward Roving Watch Stations. In addition to previous responsibilities, In addition to maintenance duties, I was also given the responsibility and position of Divisional Repair Parts Petty Officer (or Supply Liaison) for two work-centers, Auxiliary Division and Damage Control Division. The Georgia was using a new supply program called OMMS-NG and I was given the task of learning it and rebuilding the divisional RPPO program from scratch, as well as creating part and material (including HAZMAT) inventories. I also was required to track parts usage and procure necessary inventory for projected scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs. This required working with civilians shore-side as well as the government supply chains and programs. I was also given the job of Training Petty Officer during the shift between training programs. I also assisted in training other sailors in OMMS-NG use. I brought the current program up to speed along with establishing the divisional system and program paperwork for both the Auxiliary and Damage Control Divisions. This included generating exams and government paperwork that had to be approved by my chain of command. I kept both programs running at the divisional level until the switch from the legacy program to the new program was officially instituted. I also coordinated mandatory attendance and certification with the base High-Risk Damage Control Trainers. During this period I was also put in charge of gauge calibration for both the Auxiliary and Damage Control Divisions.

Assisted in system checks following turnover of SSGN-729 from NAVSEA to ship's force including hand-over-hand checks of system integrity following paperwork errors by NAVSEA personnel. Qualified Helmsman/Planesman (Steer and Dive Vessel), and Armed Topside Security Watches.
