Led the calc engine automation task force. Assisted with manual functional and regression testing, test case peer reviews, and provided internal demos and training.• Maintained hundreds of XML scripts to “unit test” application-level COM components before their release from engineering. Often helped smoke test builds before release to QA.• Implemented dozens of Rational Visual Test automated scripts for the utilities, customization, and security functional areas of FAS. Re-designed the prior scripting infrastructure using object-based custom libraries, taking advantage of VT’s pointers to functions capabilities.• Wrote and developed automation test plans and schedules. Reviewed in-house and 3rd-party tools for the department’s next-generation Windows front-end and web-enabled applications.

• Performed maintenance bug fixing and added program enhancements to all FAS products using Borland C++, Seagate Crystal Reports, and Microsoft Visual C++.• Implemented and helped design a Visual Basic test engine and drivers to validate the FAS Import API (an application-specific SDK).• Developed code path coverage test plan for system’s business rule base. Authored a code analysis document to help QA and PM identify areas affected by product-line name changes.

• Developed a suite of automated scripts using Segue’s Silk (previously called QA Partner), including domain-reports and calculation testing. Total running time was over 100 hours, with over 1 GB of output generated and analyzed. Led a team of 3 automation engineers.• Instrumental at bringing Ghost disk-imaging software in-house to help with all types of configuration, environment, and platform testing. Helped train and interview new QA staff. Performed client/server installation, database conversion, and product integration testing.

• Provided all phases of software testing for the new Windows-based FAS product line. Performed functional and regression tests including GUI testing (standard and custom controls), company utilities testing, report testing, and benchmark/performance testing.• Lead tester for the Novell NetWare and Windows NT WinFAS Network projects. Instrumental in designing, setting up, and maintaining the department’s first QA testing lab. Presented at the company’s annual users’ conference.• Developed dozens of test automation scripts using Eleverex’s Evaluator hardware- and software-based record/playback tool. • Lead C programmer for the QuickFile project, an add-on to DOS based Tax Partner product line, allowing customers to input hand prepared tax returns into our main application for electronic filing purposes with the IRS.• Wrote Microsoft Word macros for the Corporate R&D department to convert Ventura publishing formatted documents into rich text format (RTF) and then into RoboHelp format to provide an online help guide for internal programming class libraries.
