My very first opportunity to be a skilled instructor happened when I was sixteen, having the greatest summer of my life sailing on board a two-mast ship. The captain put a hand on my shoulder and told me to teach the five basic sailing knots to the three apprentice crewmen. When I did so, I knew immediately that I had a knack for teaching and thoroughly enjoyed the rush of helping someone learn how to expertly do something new.That feeling stayed with me and developed into the ability to develop and deliver performance- enhancing training solutions. As a Learning and Development manager and consultant I know that the difference between business success and failure rests on the ability of the company's workforce to perform at peak levels.Over time I have developed a sixth sense in performing needs analysis so as to design and develop comprehensive learning programs. Clients depend on me to train their employees directly or work in conjunction with their subject matter experts. As a result, I have a honed ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and to navigate complex challenges. I can coach one-on-one or facilitate train-the-trainer skills transfer sessions; and project management skills afford me the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and/or assignments.
