John McConnell is Executive Vice President of Workhouse Media, Inc. a multi-platform talent + content management agency, with clients and partnerships working across radio, television, literary representation, digital and film. John is also on the advisory board of AUA and Associates, a Manhattan based private equity firm. Until Nov. 2008, John served as SVP of Programming at ABC Radio Networks where he managed programming for ABC Music Radio, ABC News Radio, ABC Talk Radio and the ESPN Radio Network, all of which were heard on thousands of affiliates and websites. He managed broadcast assets that generated several billion dollars in revenue during his tenure at ABC. He also created and/or managed numerous programs such as The ESPN Radio Network, ABC News Radio, The Sean Hannity Show, Radio Perez (the infamous gossip blogger, Perez Hilton), The Mike Huckabee Report, The Satellite Sisters, Paul Harvey’s News and Comment, America’s Most Wanted with John Walsh, The Michael Baisden Show and American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks. John has received numerous broadcast and journalism awards and has been recognized four times by the industry publication Radio and Records as its “News/Talk Executive of the Year.” He’s also a recipient of the 2006 Avis “We Try Harder” medal awarded to “individuals, who through their courage, overcome extraordinary physical circumstances to participate in the New York Marathon.” A year earlier, John fractured his neck in a bicycle accident and then made a full recovery. He is now Vice Chairman of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
