About John Mezzapesa
My professional experiences have provided me with many skills over the years. I have enjoyed all of the positions I have held and look forward to new experiences in my future jobs. With that said, I began my career path with two passions in my life. First, I have always had a passion for being a part of the young person's journey in life. Whether that journey is one of faith, personal discovery or one of science, I consider it to be a great honor to be the facilitator in those experiences. Second, my passion for understanding the natural world provides me with an ever present sense of discovery. I enjoy the careful observations that lead to new exploration and identification of scientific principles. I have been involved in many different industries which have all provided me with a skill set that makes me a very versatile employee. My experiences in retail have given me the patience and communication needed to fit into any team of professionals. My time teaching made me responsible for managing student behavior, curriculum, time spent on topics, evaluation techniques and more all while keeping track of individual student performance and providing support to those as needed. I was required to have a strong grasp on the biological, physical, environmental and chemical concepts required by the state to teach. I was also to be a example to the youth and students I led so they had a mentor worth looking up to.Recently I have chosen a career in law/code enforcement and have realized that a new passion has grown from it. With the fundamentals of being an example and helping others, I have found that I truly enjoy upholding state and local laws. It has allowed me to take my skills as an educator and a scientist to the general public to help people understand how the ordinances and laws keep San Luis Obispo safe and enjoyable. I would gladly pursue a long term career to help further local laws and look forward to the many possibilities in this field.Specialties: Teaching, Education, Biology, Youth Leadership, Code Enforcement
