I wanted to be an accountant. Now that I have your attention, let me tell you how I took a skillset in accounting and transferred that to my current career in marketing. After four years of accounting classes, including a statewide accounting championship in Maryland, and two years serving a voluntary mission in Spain, I concluded that accounting wasn't where I was supposed to be. I was good at it but it wasn't fulfilling. That's when I took my first marketing class at BYU and knew that it was the career for me.I was fortunate to be accepted to the marketing program at BYU where I was able to work on extensive, real-world marketing projects, helping real businesses boost their marketing efforts resulting in increased profitability for their companies. I was able to participate in four total marketing internships across various industries including sports, construction, non-profit, and technology gaining valuable experience along the way. I graduated from Brigham Young University in December 2023 with a bachelor's degree in marketing and now work at Pluralsight as a Demand Generation Coordinator. Marketing allows me to change people's lives, even if it's in a small way. It gives me a purpose that I don't think accounting could and is what drives me to be the best I can be. I am a proud marketer.
