About John Nicholas

I am an experienced manager of web development teams. In my current role I built up an agency web team from scratch to one of the our main revenue streams by leading the development of a custom video platform. I also spearheaded our CMS practice which has become a major part of our digital practice. Our CMS experience includes Umbraco, Sitecore and Sitefinity as well as extensive custom ASP.NET MVC development.I have also long specialized in Rich Media development including developing one of the first live Flash video streaming sites in 2004. This platform has been continually updated since to improve performance and capabilities and keep up with modern developments. The platform was shepherded successfully through transitions into Flex/Actionscript 3 and then into a modern advanced Node.js Javascript application with HTML5 video streaming including integration with set-top boxes.Beyond the programming leadership I have also led our transition from expensive hosted servers to embracing Amazon’s cloud technologies including extensive use of EC2, S3 and Cloudfront.
