▶️ HOW I CREATE SUCCESS: I am focused on three aspects of success: customer success, personal success for those I lead directly and others that support us, and successful outcomes for those that have invested their trust (and money) in us. Common for all aspects is that success comes from developing the right strategy, setting goals and inspiring the team, finding ways to execute despite obstacles, removing barriers and knowing when and how to adjust the strategy and the execution plan.▶️ MY EXPERTISE: I’m a strategic leader in payments-focused Enterprise Software & high-growth FinTech companies with over 25 years’ of global experience. I have led the design, build, launch, business development and operation of three companies that built proprietary B2B payment processing systems, each of which have processed hundreds of billions of dollars of payments in dozens of currencies and countries on behalf of Fortune 100 customers and financial institutions like 3M Company, Kraft Foods, Citibank, Wells Fargo and Western Union. Prior to joining Coupa in early 2022, I lead a global customer success team at SAP, focused on SAP's B2B payments & financing solutions.▶️ ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE: I have led both large and small teams in a multitude of scenarios: at SAP, a leader in enterprise software with hundreds of thousands of customers in all industries and all parts of the world. As a start-up co-founder several times, I have also led companies from the concept stage to hundreds of customers and team members on three continents. And I have led a team in a private equity-backed payments company executing a roll-up strategy. In addition to hands-on leadership in growing payments, fintech and enterprise software organizations, I have completed many successful consulting engagements with private equity firms, venture capital firms, start-ups like C2FO and large payments companies like MasterCard. ▶️ GLOBAL LEADERSHIP: I grew up in Sweden and moved to the U.S. after college, then moved back to the UK to lead the European launch of a B2B cross-border payments company I co-founded. I have lived and worked in five countries, speak three languages and have managed teams on four continents responsible for customers on five continents.▶️ MY SPECIALTIES: Cross-border Payments | Virtual Card | ACH | Fedwire | Dynamic Discounting | Receivables Financing | Product Management & Development | P&L Management | Business Strategy | Mergers & Acquisitions | Venture Capital | Private Equity | Corporate Development | Cross-functional Team Leadership | Partnerships | FinTech

Global Vp Payments & Financing | Customer Success | Cross-Functional Team Leadership | FintechSap Sep 2017 - Jan 2022Walldorf, Bw, DeI managed the SAP Payments & Financing Customer Success Organization. Promoted to this role after just five months at SAP, I was responsible for all aspects of deploying SAP- or partner-provided working capital solutions for SAP customers on a global basis. My team had members on three continents and we supported customers on five continents. We supported the SAP Ariba Financial Ecosystem and the Financial Supply Chain Management solutions offered by SAP Procurement Solutions / SAP Ariba and managed customer relationships focused on B2B payments & financing. After taking on this role, I re-built and expanded the team. With a customer-focused approach, we optimized customer onboarding, adoption and retention, leading to substantial revenue and EBITDA growth as well as productivity improvements for our business unit. As an expert in B2B payments and business networks, I played an important role in developing strategy for the SAP Ariba Financial Ecosystem. As a core member of a small leadership team, I was closely involved in all aspects of the business: strategy development, sales, product management, P&L management and partnerships. -
Vp Payables | Transforming Buyer & Supplier Onboarding | Ach | Commerce Network | PartnershipsSap Apr 2017 - Sep 2017Walldorf, Bw, DeI joined SAP to scale and optimize the buyer & supplier onboarding process of the AribaPay solution (domestic ACH payments in the U.S. with integrated supplier onboarding), which had been launched in 2015 in partnership with Discover Financial. After removing adoption blockers and re-focusing on top suppliers, supplier onboarding and payments volume more than doubled between 2017 and 2020. -
President, Co-Founder & Board Member | B2B Payments | Fintech | Ach | Virtual Card | StartupVendorin Inc Apr 2007 - Jan 2017I co-founded Vendorin to help mid-size and large corporates automate and digitally transform their Accounts Payables process. We built a cloud-native, scalable platform which removed many of the onboarding challenges for buyers and suppliers and accelerated their digital transformation. Vendorin pioneered the “card first” concept in supplier onboarding: allowing suppliers a choice between virtual card and ACH with intelligent switching incorporating timing of payment. Since inception, the Vendorin platform has processed hundreds of billions of dollars in payments using eight payment types in multiple currencies.Vendorin focused on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable B2B challenges in the U.S. and Canada. Our compelling vision led to partnerships with Wells Fargo, MasterCard, Silicon Valley Bank, Cambridge Global Payments, Chrome River and others, where Vendorin solutions were embedded in our partners’ solutions. Vendorin also white-labeled its entire platform, including customer implementation and customer support agents, for Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions under the brand name Citi Payment Exchange. Vendorin provided important inspiration for both MasterCard Track and Nacha’s Phixius.Vendorin was VC-funded and was acquired by Juvo Technologies in September 2016 but continues to operate under the Vendorin brand. As President, co-founder, board member and acting CFO, I was closely involved in all aspects of the business: fundraising, P&L management, strategy, business development, customer success, supplier onboarding, partnerships with top global banks and payment networks, product management and leadership of a team on two continents.

Director Product Management | Corporate Development | M&A | Foreign Exchange | Cross-Border PaymentsRuesch International Oct 2005 - Apr 2007UsI joined Ruesch when the company acquired Trancentrix, a cross-border payments company I co-founded. Ruesch was a global non-bank financial institution specializing in international B2B payment products and solutions. The company had offices in Australia, the Czech Republic, the UK, Switzerland, and the U.S. which served more than 30,000 corporate clients. Ruesch was a portfolio company of the Private Equity firm Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) and was acquired by Travelex in April 2007 for $440 million. My role at Ruesch was to lead the global Product Management team and lead the integration of the Trancentrix and Ruesch platforms. I also worked in Corporate Development with our in-house investment banker and WCAS team members with the goal of identifying additional M&A opportunities to execute the WCAS roll-up strategy. -
Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder & Board Member | Fintech | Cross-Border Payments | M&ATrancentrix Apr 1999 - Sep 2005UsI co-founded Trancentrix to bring innovation to the cross-border payments business in the U.S. and Europe. Trancentrix pioneered the concept of Integrated Payables and quickly developed a customer base of Fortune 500 clients such as 3M Company, Best Buy and General Dynamics, which used Trancentrix to process cross-border and domestic payments in the U.S., Canada and the UK. The company was backed by Draper Atlantic, a Northern Virginia venture capital fund and was acquired by Ruesch in September 2005. Trancentrix was included on the Inc 500 list in 2004 (#480).While at Trancentrix, I managed the design, launch and continuous development of a sophisticated electronic payment system which processed billions of dollars in monthly transactions using dozens of payment types in 100+ currencies with payments going to 100+ countries, including ACH/low value clearing in 20+ countries. Working with top global banks, I built a proprietary global payments network to support the needs of our customers and solve challenges in cross-border payments and foreign exchange. The first version of the Trancentrix solution was on-premise software, using a modem or internet connection to transmit payment instructions from the customer’s ERP system to the Trancentrix back office system. After a few years, Trancentrix was one of the first companies offering hybrid and cloud-based solutions to our customers. Due to our innovative and market-leading solutions, Western Union chose to partner with Trancentrix when they first entered the corporate FX business in 2001.As COO, co-founder and board member, I was closely involved in all aspects of the business: fundraising, P&L management, strategy, M&A, business development, customer success, global expansion, partnerships with top global banks and payment networks, product management and building a team on three continents. -
Managing Director Europe | Global Expansion | Business Development | Sales | Go To Market (Gtm)Trancentrix Aug 2004 - Aug 2005UsWhen Trancentrix decided to expand internationally, I moved to London to launch Trancentrix in Europe. I built a local team focused on Sales and Business Development, created and executed a successful Go-To-Market strategy, set up local bank relationships and recruited and trained a local Managing Director before moving back to the U.S. -
Vice President | Foreign Exchange | Cross-Border Payments | Fintech | Global Banking PartnershipsTravelex Global Payments, Inc. Jan 1995 - Apr 1999Peterborough, London, GbPrior to 1995, Travelex was exclusively focused on retail foreign exchange, primarily at airports. Travelex entered the corporate foreign exchange business when acquiring Eide & Eide, a company of about 10 staff and $250,000 in revenue. During my time with Travelex, I led the transformation of the Eide & Eide business to a global corporate FX payment service provider. This business was eventually sold to Western Union in 2011 for approximately $1 billion.I joined Travelex when they acquired Eide & Eide. My role was to manage Product, FX Trading and Global Payment Operations, and to help launch the corporate FX business in the UK and Australia. I worked with top global banks to build a proprietary global payments network to support corporate cross-border and foreign exchange payments, expanding far beyond the needs of the retail FX business. As we launched the business, customer interaction was entirely phone- and fax-based. I led the development of FXOnline, one of the first PC-based solutions for FX payments for enterprise customers, competing with Citibank’s WorldLink and Bank of America’s MicroExchange. FXOnline allowed customers to automate international “nuisance payments”, too small and frequent to be handled by the Treasury team, but traditionally very cumbersome for the Accounts Payables team. FXOnline met the needs of both and allowed Travelex to capture significant customers like Sprint and Saudi Aramco. FXOnline was a disruptive innovation which fueled rapid revenue growth for the business both in the U.S. as well as the UK and Australia. -
Director Of Operations | Foreign Exchange | Cross-Border Payments | Vat Reclaim | InnovationEide & Eide Currency Services Jul 1993 - Dec 1994Eide & Eide was a small foreign exchange broker selling to the incentive travel industry. I joined the company as employee number 2 of a new business unit launching a Value Added Tax reclaim service for U.S. companies doing business in Europe. The company was sold to Travelex in December 1994. I was hired by Eide & Eide to build a system for processing VAT reclaim applications from European tax authorities. I was promoted to handle technology and operations for the FX broker business as well and developed our first combined CRM and FX trading system using the Paradox for Windows 1.0 database.
