John is a member of Redbourn Methodist Church and designed a new responsive website for the church in 2020 (having designed the original website back in 2007). He is also the principal worship musician at the church, playing for church services and also recording music and creating music videos for use in online worship.

John is resident pianist in the Palm Court - The Langham, London playing for afternoon tea and providing jazz duos, trios, etc. as requested.

John has recorded and produced several albums and EPs released on his own record label 'John Anthony Watson' and available on Spotify, Apple Music and most major streaming platforms. More recently, he has released two chill-out EPs, 'Reflections' and 'Preludio', and a Christmas EP 'New Star' featuring all original compositions.

John is musical director and keyboard player for the legendary 80's soul/funk band 'Imagination. He continues to work with lead singer Leee John to this day and co-wrote, arranged and performed on Leee's jazz album 'Feel My Soul'.

John has gained invaluable experience by performing in many different situations from hotels to jazz clubs, from festivals to house parties. These include: Four Seasons Hotel London (where he was resident pianist for 18 years), The Dorchester, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Quaglino’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, Hammersmith Apollo, JVC Jazz Festival Paris, Grand-Hôtel Du Cap-Ferrat Music Festival and St. Regis Hotel New York.John performs as a pianist, singer pianist and with his trio. He is also very popular as a self-contained keyboard player/vocalist for private parties. His vast repertoire covers most situations from background to dance music and he also plays for wedding ceremonies. John is also a respected accompanist and has been the long time musical director of Leee John and legendary 80’s group Imagination.

John was musical director for UK soul singer Mica Paris and performed (piano/keyboard/vocal) with her at prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Soho, London.

John was resident pianist at Four Seasons Hotel London (formerly the 'Inn on the Park') for an amazing 18 years until the hotel's closure for a major renovation in September 2008. He built up an international following and also arranged regular jazz nights inviting top female jazz vocalists to sing with his trio.
